I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher! This is my JOY! I love what I do and I'm thankful for my job everyday!
I have been teaching for 18 years, 17 years in BISD at Kemp Carver Elementary. I have been a classroom teacher for Kindergarten and 2nd Grade, however, my passion is MUSIC!

I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, emphasis in Early Childhood Education, in 2004. I also have an ESL specialization. I have about 20 hours towards a Masters in Education, but that has been put on pause at the moment.
Through the years, I have written MANY grants! I have been awarded thousands that have all been put back into materials and experiences for the kiddos I teach. We have been able to purchase everything from stuff for science experiments to class sets of instruments! It is amazing seeing the joy on student's faces when they get to see and work with new things! I am so grateful that I am able to help them experience these things!
I have also started and led our school choir, Kemp Carver Noteables for the last 10 years! This gives students the opportunity to be a part of a group that positively represents our campus through different events and performances within the community. The kids enjoy getting to bring joy to others through their singing! They are amazing!
